Cason's Summer

Cason has had a busy summer! His biggest accomplishment is learning how to swim! He can go anywhere he wants to in the pool right now if he puts his mind to it. He is still a little scared to swim out into the middle of the pool but he will swim in the shallow areas and close to the steps. He also can dive down and get toys off the bottom of the pool! Toby and I are so proud of him!

This summer Cason also saw his first movie in a movie theater! While we were in Lubbock in July Toby and I took him and his cousin Travis to see Monsters University. He did a pretty good job! He got a little nervous in parts but other than that he did great! Since then we have taken him to see Planes in the theater too. We are officially a movie going family now!

He's so excited!

Here are some other fun things he did this summer...
BeBe and Grandad took Cason and Reid to a cooking class at their gym. Cason loved it!
Grandad and BeBe also took the grand kids to the Perot  Science Museum.
Feeling what an earthquake would feel like!
A tornado!
Toby took Cason and Molly to the Fort Worth Zoo while I was away on a girls weekend. They met their Lubbock cousins there!

Molly's Summer

Little Miss Molly has had a busy summer just like her brother! She has gone swimming a ton and loves it! She even took swim lessons and is actually getting the hang of it! She went to our church's summer camp 3 times this summer. Her teachers loved her and she had a good time! Her and I also went to Tiny Tot's and Tunes a couple times at our church. Molly loves to sing and dance! Right now her favorite songs are Jesus Loves Me, Baby Bumble Bee, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. Unfortunately I somehow did not get ANY pictures of these activities. But here are some pictures of our summer that I did manage to take...

Molly loves anything that has to do with art. She could color or paint for hours.

Summer Vacation 2013

Our family embarked on an epic vacation this weekend. We went all the way to Grapevine to stay at the Gaylord Texan. The traveling was rough but we survived it. (Just kidding, the Gaylord is only about a 30 min. drive from our house).

Even thought we didn't travel we had an awesome time! On Friday night we took the kids to the Rainforest Cafe. They loved it!

Molly did NOT want to take a picture with the tigers! To her credit, they did move and roar every once in a while!

It took Cason a little while to warm up to the idea of taking a picture withe the tigers but he finally decided to be brave and do it!

Later that night we let them stay up WAY past their bedtime to see the fireworks over the lake next to the Gaylord.
Dancing on roof of the parking garage at the pre fireworks party.

The next morning we woke up, some a lot earlier than others (Cason was up at 6), and went to the small water park at the Gaylord named Paradise Springs. The kid's swam their little hearts out and floated on the lazy river.
They are ready to go swimming!

Two tired and cold kids!

After lunch we went back to the hotel for nap time then just explored the atrium inside the Gaylord.

We took the kids to "Kids Silly Time" where they ate snow cones and got balloon sculptures.

We were sad to leave but I think we can all agree that it felt great to spend some quality time with each other. I can't wait to go on many more vacations with these guys.
One last ride down the elevator.
