Molly is 18 Months!

Miss Molly is 18 months today! She is growing and changing so much every day. I like to call her Little Miss Independent. She wants to do everything her way on her own time. She has the cutest and sweetest personality and loves to snuggle on her own terms! Molly still idolizes her brother. I am sure one day this will change but for now she wants to do everything he does. This girl LOVES shoes. She wants to try on every pair of shoes she sees even if they are way too big. She likes to wear my flip flops and put her toes between the straps and everything. She also loves babies. She's not really into playing with baby dolls yet but whenever she sees a baby she will say "baby". Even if it is a child her age, she still calls him or her a baby. There is a little newborn baby at Myrna's house and Myrna says she likes to look at him and help bring him things he needs. If she sees a picture of a baby in a book or magazine she points it out too. One last thing, Molly loves to dance and does the cutest/spastic dance every. Pretty much every time she here's music of any kind she will start waving her arms and "dancing". I see dance classes in her future!

Stats:
23 pounds
32 inches tall

Molly is talking more and more each day. Here are her words that I can remember.
Mama, Dada, Buba, BeBe, Grandad, Papaw, Thank You (said na noo), shoes (go figure), ewie, please (said pees), water, yum yums (food), diaper, no no, poo poo, peepee, knock knock, baby, bad dog (she hears that a lot!), kitty, down, hi, bye bye, and hello.

Hot Air Balloon Festival

This Saturday we went to Plano's Hot Air Balloon Festival with the kids. It was our first time and we had a blast! We went with our small group from church so there were a lot of other kids for our kids to play with! We sat on a hill (a really steep hill!) and had a perfect view of the balloons. They lifted off about 6 then most of them came back for the night "burn". We didn't get to stay for the actual "burn" but we got a pretty good idea of what it was going to be like!

It's Been A "Pinteresting" Summer!

It has been a GREAT summer! We didn't go on any vacations this year but we did have a lot of fun. I don't know how I would have survived without Pinterest! It has changed my life, seriously! I found a ton of activities for the kids to do and I don't think I repeated anything for dinner ALL summer long. Pinterest makes me a better mom, a better wife (lot's of ideas on how to encourage and pray for your husband), a better cook, and a better teacher! My quote of the summer has been, "I found this on pinterest...". Here are a few pictures of the things I found for the kids. I also made a bunch of toddler busy bags for Cason but didn't take a picture them.

I made Cason a road out of painters tape. It even had a parking garage!

Molly had fun too!

I dyed some rice different colors. The kids played with this several times over the summer. The rice got everywhere but it was worth it. Nothing a little vacuuming can't fix!

These pictures are just some other things Cason and Molly did this summer.

We didn't go on a vacation but we DID buy the kids a swing set off of Craigs List. I will NEVER do that again because it was a beating but we do have a pretty funny story....After nearly a week of looking for a swing set and bidding on at least 7 we finally found something that might work and we decided to go look at it. The people gave us their address and later that day the kids and I picked up Toby to go have a look. I have to go on record saying that the kids and I had been swimming that morning and then they played in the dirt at my parents house all afternoon. We were filthy! I had gross pool hair, no make-up and Target workout clothes on. (That's how I roll most summer days!) We turned into these peoples neighborhood and there were mansions. MANSIONS PEOPLE!! I started panicking and searching for my make-up when we pulled up to a beautiful 2 million dollar house (we looked it up afterwards :)). The nice people took us through their house and into the backyard to see the swing set. The kids played on it for a while and we decided to buy it. As we were going back through the house I looked down and saw that Cason had mud on his shoes and he was walking on their white carpet!! I was mortified. Regardless of all that fun we got the kids a nice swing set for a fraction of the original cost!

First Trip to Hawiian Falls

Toby and I took the kids to Hawaiian falls this Saturday. We got there about 10 and only stayed until 12:30 ish. It was perfect and the kids had SOO much fun. Cason did ride some of the little kid slides but I had to literally push him to get him to go! I am looking forward to more Hawaiian Falls trips next summer!

Summer Trip to Lubbock

A couple of weeks ago we went to Lubbock to see Toby's family. Everyone had a great time. It was good to get away for a little bit and the weather was awesome! The temperature was the same as here but the dry air made it feel so much more bearable. I always forget that about Lubbock. As you can see in the pictures, the kids played outside a lot. It was nice to be able to go out in the middle of the afternoon!

Cason's Musical

Cason and Molly are going to our church for summer mini camp! It is 3 days a week 3 weeks this summer. 2 of the weeks are Olympic themed but this past week was a music camp. The final day of camp all of the kids aged 3-5 performed the songs that hey had been learning. Cason and his cousin Reid were in the same class so they were right next to each other during the performance. Lets just say there was not as much singing as there was playing. I am not sure that Cason sang much of anything! Oh well, we had a blast watching him and Reid up there!

Yes, this is in the middle of the performance!

Very proud of himself!

15 month old Molly

Molly is 15 months and had her well visit last week.
She weighs 22 pounds and is 30 in. tall.

Molly is starting to say a lot of words! Mama, dada, bubba (although Cason hates that and tells us that is not his name!), dog, bye-bye, hi, uh oh, milk, more and points and asks, "that?". She can imitate what we are saying too.

She can wave hi and bye and blow kisses. She also has been giving us these really cute open mouth kisses! This past week she has mastered the pucker and loves to kiss us! She is also starting to run and thinks that it is hilarious!

Molly still loves doing whatever her brother is doing. She likes to dance, look at books, play outside in the sandbox, take walks, and of course be held!

Her favorite foods are cheese, chicken nuggets, french fries, chips (I know, Mom of the Year), strawberries, grapes, and pineapple.

She is sleeping really good at night! If it is really quiet in the house she will sleep until 9 or 9:30 in the morning. She takes after her mama!

The newest thing about Molly is her temper. I guess she is starting the terrible two's a little early. She has starting throwing these horrible fits where she screams as high and as loud as she can. She also gets mad at us and spits at us and hits us. Pretty much whenever someone does something she doesn't like she spits. It is very embarrassing in public! After talking to her pediatrician we are going to start really short time outs. This should be fun!

Despite Molly's very strong personality she is still really sweet. She gives the best hugs and kisses and loves to cuddle. I love this little girl more than words can say!

Check out these curls! We don't know who she got them from!
